Heading for the Beach: from Amboseli to Mombasa []
Herd of elephants in Amboseli
The scenery in Amboseli is famous for its backdrop of the highest summit of Africa, Mount Kilimanjaro. Though this mountain is officially on Tanzanian grounds, the best views are captured from within Kenya, specifically Amboseli. And what can beat the sight of herds of elephants with the Kili peak in the background? Amboseli has a variety of landscapes to offer – from open plains to swamps, with an equal variety of wildlife. Tsavo (East & West) houses Kenya’s largest elephant population. Buffalo, leopard, lion and rhino top up the Big Five in these parks. Spotting them all requires good fortune due to Tsavo’s spaciousness. But the Tsavo scenery alone is worth the stopover.

This tour finishes in Mombasa, which is just the starting point for the famous Kenyan beach life. You can enjoy your onward beach holiday in every way imaginable: camping on the beach, staying in a basic hotel, indulging yourself in a luxury lodge or renting a private beach house.
